Megan & Nick's Enchanting Wedding Day | Bluestone Estate | Lancaster, PA

Megan and Nick met in Pittsburgh almost seven years ago while attending college at Duquesne University. As they got to know one another they discovered they both grew up in the same town, a place they would eventually return to together. First, they moved to DC together about four years ago, right before covid hit. They got a dog together and worked in healthcare. Of course, they didn't know that they would find themselves working grueling hours during a pandemic so soon after taking the step to move in with one another, but their relationship grew for it. They got to see one another through an incredibly challenging time and became stronger together. Megan saw Nick's nurturing nature both in his work and at home with her and their dog. This is when she realized she wanted to build a life and a family with him.

Megan revealed her dress to both her dad and her bridesmaids in two very different first looks. Her first look with Dad was intimate, filled with tearful joy as he saw his girl for the first time on her wedding day. The first look with the bridesmaids was more fun-filled as her besties turned to see her with looks of shock and awe before screams of celebration.

Afterward, she and Nick shared a first touch where they held hands and shared a prayer together.

Megan and Nick chose to hold their ceremony at Willow Valley Chapel, as bringing their Catholic upbringing into their nuptials was important to them both. The stunning white chapel had this quintessential air to it that perfectly corresponded with Megan's vision for their enchanting wedding day. Set adjacent to a lovely pond amongst the green rolling hills of Lancaster, PA. Fun fact, this chapel used to sit a thousand feet across the street but was moved and built on to in 2018, to include a patio, reception hall and outdoor ceremony site. Inside the chapel was just as charming as the exterior. The couple said their vows in front of beautiful stained glass windows in the softly lit chapel.

Following the ceremony the newlyweds and their wedding party joyfully celebrated as they traveled back to Bluestone Estate together. Megan's vision for her and Nick's wedding day was classic elegance. They fell in love with Bluestone Estate, an elevated farmhouse with gable walls and exposed stone. The early 19th century atmosphere was perfect for their special day, but also featured modern amenities as the entire barn was renovated in 2017.

Megan looked spectacular in her crochet lace dress with a timeless chapel veil. Her bridesmaids wore soft sky blue dresses. Both Nick and his groomsmen wore grey suits with white shirts and black shoes. Nick stood out with his white tie and pocket square while the groomsmen wore blue ties and pocket squares that matched the bridesmaid's dresses.

A break between the ceremony and cocktail hour permitted us time to take family formals, wedding party photos and complete Megan and Nick's couples session before the newlyweds joined the end of their cocktail hour to mingle with their guests and enjoy a much needed snack.

As the guests made their way to their seats Megan and Nick prepared for their grand entrance and their first dance, which they knocked out of the park!

Between the heartfelt parent dances and touching speeches, I doubt there was a dry eye in the house when the dinner stations opened. The catering by Rettew's was incredible, I was especially impressed by the melt in your mouth prime rib, though I wish I had been able to try the made to order ramen. Afterward, Megan and Nick cut their personal cake; the beautiful small two tiered partially naked cake, also made by Rettew's, was decorated simply with white roses.

Before opening the dance floor the DJ called all the single ladies to the dance floor for the bouquet toss, but not just any bouquet toss, there was a surprise within the floral arrangement. As soon as Megan threw the bouquet it split into a bunch of tiny bouquets! This twist genuinely surprised the ladies and confusion quickly transitioned into scurrying for one of the tiny bouquets.

Eager to dance the night away with their loved ones DJ Ben got the party started! The dance floor exploded as celebratory classics filled the air. Megan and Nick were the center of the dance floor and never left each others side! When we snuck out to take photos in front of the venue with dry sparklers Megan commented on how quickly the day flew by and couldn't believe they only had an hour left on the dance floor! She said later that this was her favorite part of the night and if she could change one thing she would have opened the dance floor sooner.

To close out their coverage Megan and Nick danced and shared some kisses in front of their venue with dry sparklers exploding celebratorily behind them.
