Cammi & John's Intimate Cabin Destination Wedding | Blue Ridge Mountains, TN

Cammi and John met two years ago online, but they quickly discovered that they actually went to the same high school! They hit it off immediately, bonding over their shared love for traveling and being outdoors. John had a little something special planned for their Christmas travels to Iceland. He popped the question while hiking as they reached a waterfall amongst a stunning wintery vista.

John has a love for aviation and taking to the skies, and recently got his pilot's license and a small plane! This inspired them to fly from Florida into the Blue Ridge Mountains for an intimate cabin destination wedding. They flew into Martin Campbell Airport, a small general aviation airport nestled in the southeast corner of Tennessee just on the outside of Cherokee National Forest. We rendezvoused at the airfield for their first look where they joyfully came together before hopping in the plane to take a private spin together as their wedding party cheered and waved from the runway.

As the happy couple soared through the skies, their wedding party and photography team made their way to the rented cabin where Cammi and John would exchange their vows. The ceremony site was simple yet elegant with stunning mountain views. As the soon-to-be newlyweds arrived, their family and friends eagerly awaited their nuptials.

The ceremony was short and sweet but filled with joyful tears and laughter as the couple came together with their best friends and immediate family. Cammi said that the ceremony was magical and her favorite part of the day. She was surprised to see John crying as she walked down the aisle, and then again when he was saying his vows.

After the ceremony we took photos with Cammi and John and all of their 16 guests; having such an intimate guest list allowed us to capture unique memories with each and every person in attendance. From heartfelt photos of Cammi and her dad, to epic moments with her sister-in-law revealing a humorous bathing suit under her wrap-around dress, we were able to capture an array of genuine moments throughout the day.

As their guests made their way to the cabin deck to enjoy drinks and charcuterie, Cammi and John embarked upon their couples session around the beautiful grounds. Their love was apparent as they playfully interacted with each other between poses. The cabin offered a number of lovely backdrops and I was especially impressed by the view, but also by the option of lush tree lines and a hedge sprinkled with sunshine-yellow blooms.

After taking a break to snack and spend time with their guests, Cammi and John shared their first dance before sitting down to break bread with their loved ones. The Maid of Honor and Best Man shared touching speeches regaling their relationship with the newlyweds and the journey of marriage. Then they cut the cake, which was handmade by Cammi for their momentous day.

Cammi said that keeping the wedding small and intimate was the best decision she made, but that if she could change one thing she would have hired a day-of coordinator to help alleviate the stress and pressure her sister-in-law carried throughout the day. Their intimate wedding allowed for togetherness, so much laughter, and stress-free celebration. Cammi and John planned exactly the wedding they wanted and said 'I Do' to the person of their dreams.
